Users running Open ELEC 6.95.1 or later with auto-update enabled will be prompted on-screen to reboot and apply the update once it has been downloaded and enabled in some hours.
Users running older Open ELEC releases or with auto-update disabled will need to manually update.
We appreciate your continued support, without it we would not be able to continue.
If you have any questions about Open ELEC, sponsoring the project, or think you might be able to offer another service that will be useful to us, then please drop me an email at Never heard of it, whats the difference with openelec?? Ah...found a dutch site with the explanation between both LOL So much easier for me to read, thnx for the heads up......
We can also accept donations by other means (bitcoin, flattr, etc…). There has been many months of development and testing in the run-up to this releases, but like any major update there are a lot of changes.
Unfortunately, we are unable to test every scenario on all hardware, so it’s possible you might pick up on an issue we may have missed (this is why we do beta tests).
We are always looking for people to help with documentation, testing and reporting bugs.We would like anyone brave enough to test this release and report issues that they find either with Open ELEC or Kodi.We would like to thank our users, team members and partners for testing, reporting and fixing issues, creating how-to documents, developing new features, and their donations of hardware and funds to the project. If you enjoy using Open ELEC and would like to make a donation to support the project, you can do this using Pay Pal.Donating is easy and takes only a few minutes, and you do not need a Pay Pal account to make a donation.I'm using a (cheap) one-for-all remote, where everything works out of the box, so no need to tune the file. You may need to power down the NUC after installation in order to make "power on" from the remote work again (the nuvoton chips need a re-init).//Tom I've used Imagewriter to put the image onto an USB stick. The biggest problem was to find out which FKey ist for "boot Menue". And there ist not much to re-configure: - IP - localization - user/pass for webinterface - remount the smb shares.I resized the partitions easily enough (using g Parted) and I have tried dropping the update file into the Update folder via SMB and the ./Update folder via Win SCP and rebooted. There doesn't appear to be any issues displayed with the system reboots.I know I could always do a fresh install but I was hoping to avoid that with the plugins and customisation I have running..... It did update, just took an extra reboot for some reason.Hi, I'm still rolling the latest 6x and have tried updating it to 7.0.1 without success. My machine is an old laptop running the x86 version of OE.
